사진 확대 When an investigator asks questions in natural language, artificial intelligence (AI) analyzes dark web and virtual asset transactions, selects appropriate investigation strategies, and even writes investigation reports. Instead of dealing with various analysis tools directly by humans, AI agents determine the tools and data they need and perform the investigation process.
On the 8th, big data analysis AI company S2W announced that it has launched an autonomous AI agent called ‘DRI (Deep Research Investigator)’, which specializes in criminal investigation. DRI will be installed on S2W’s security AI platform ‘XARVIS’.
DRI utilizes data collected by S2W on the dark web, deep web, Telegram, and hacking forums. When an investigator enters the investigation in natural language, AI finds necessary information and combines detection and analysis tools installed on Jarvis.
Using this, it is possible to analyze the activity history of anonymous accounts, virtual asset transaction details, and attack techniques together. Among the nine investigation strategies, including dark web monitoring and ransomware tracking, AI also applied a function that automatically selects a method suitable for questions.

Due to the nature of the investigation work, the focus was also on reducing AI hallucination problems. It is a method of answering based on actual data collected by applying search enhancement generation (RAG) and marking the source of the original text for each conclusion. It also recorded the process from search to conclusion so that investigators could check the basis for AI’s judgment.
The high-risk judgment was finally confirmed by a person. Even if AI automates the investigation process, the investigator takes charge of the main judgment that can affect the case.
