I’m pretty annoyed that KBC is leaving, they were always quite responsive with any issues.
I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than 15 or 20 minute switch ptsb

It’s not an unusually high number of enquiries if it’s been like this for the past 2 years, Martina. You’re experiencing a normal number of enquiries.
10/15 minutes tops is how long I’d wait. Hang up and ring again then and hopefully get through to someone.
Go into a branch next time and use their phone you usually get through quicker.
I waited 10 minutes about a month ago
Just going to mention here that you don’t have to be locked into the crappy Irish banks and their ancient systems if you don’t want…
I moved to N26 a year ago and haven’t looked back. Because of SEPA you can use the German bank here for direct debits etc, with really no issues(apart from having to explain SEPA to every company you deal with).
I get a hotline that is never more than a 5 minute wait to get sorted and have a load of other fintech benefits like unlimited card payments, automatic spaces transfers and instant bank transfers…
I really haven’t seen any downsides apart from setting up SEPA direct debits, and that’s just down to stupid Irish companies and always gets sorted eventually.
That at least settles my anxiety about changing to an online bank like Bunq. I was worried about the responsiveness of their customer service but if the “brick and mortar” banks are like this then I am not missing out on anything.
I really am going to miss KBC. Really good app I could do most of my day to day banking on. On the rare occasion I had to call them there was never a long wait and the issue was always sorted.
Sure why would they give a shite, there’s like what 3 banks left, all of which have near gone to wall and bailed out.
I’m with KBC and they answer straight away. I’m honestly dreading being forced back to an Irish Bank.
I never ring them. Its always quicker to just go to a branch and get them to connect you to customer service from there.
It’s maddening.
This is the situation literally everywhere. Everything is fucking slow in this country.
PLEASE tell me this is a toll free line. I would hate to see your phone bill at the end of the month otherwise
