I have a heap of auld telly recordings my aulfella recorded years ago and while I can’t upload all the licenced programs I can do the ad breaks of the eras. If any of you would like to view them you can follow the channel below. First few uploaded already. I find them fascinating time capsules.   11. My uncle had a learning disability and was a very special person. In the late 90s / early 00’s, RTE were filming for an advert and were getting shots of rural Ireland. My uncle happened to be herding the cows one morning and they stopped to film him. It was two to three seconds max he was on the screen, and back in the day we had it on VHS but lost it moving house. The only thing I remember clearly was the song on the ad – “Can you dig it?” by the mock turtles. I know the chances of finding it are slim but I’m going to scroll through your links – regardless I’m sure it will be a great nostalgia trip!

    My friend and I have been singing the lyrics to a song from an advert but we can’t seem to find what the advert is or what the song was called.

    The lyrics we can remember are:

    “I’ll take you back,

    Back to the days,

    Where we lived our lives for each other”

    Anyone know where it’s from, it’s been bugging us for a while

  19. That Wrigley’s ad is the most vivid memory of an advert I have as a child, it must have been on a tape recording that I rewatched a lot (of what I cannot remember).

  26. There was an A Wear advert in the 80s for the upcoming January sales that scared the living shit out of me.

    It was just a spinning mannequin on one part of the screen with flashing yellow and black hazard tape and an emergency siren as the only sound.

Do you have the ad for lemsip max strength where these two yuppie dickheads try to stab each other in the back but then the older dickhead wins out and the younger dickhead asks him how because he was out sick and it cuts to a flashback of the older dickhead working from home and then he holds up the box of lemsip max strength and taps it twice with his finger and says “lemsip max strength, this sorts the men from the boys”? God I hated those two dickheads

This could’ve just been a childhood fever dream but I’m convinced that in the late 90s / early 2000s there was (possibly) a juice ad with animated crows playing the maracas, and the song used was La Cucaracha? I want to say it was played on RTE and TG4. It’s definitely not any Smooth n Juicy ad!

  31. There’s an Ad from around that time from Peter Mark where they claimed their perming wand could curl a yard brush and it used to terrify me as a child.

    If anyone has it I’d love to know what I was so scared of.

  37. Ah fuck sake. Around the turn of the millennium, I appeared on a mayonnaise advert (I was young and needed the money) since then I’ve changed career to the food industry and would be scarlet if that advert ever made light of day. Thanks a bunch OP

  39. Ah this is gonna be cool! Funny how I’d be sick of ads in the present day but looking back at these and it’s pure nostalgia. This is a great little idea, hope YouTube doesn’t pull them down at some point.

  40. There used to be an ad on TV years ago (maybe late 90’s or early 2000’s? Definitely before 2007) that I have described to my husband approximately 15 million times but he has never seen it, maybe you have it? Or maybe someone can at least confirm that I did not make this up.

    It was an ad for milk. My brain is telling me that it was for Avonmore, but I think that’s a lie. There were 3 small figurines, a cow, a cowboy and…. Someone else… Maybe a soldier? I can’t remember the third one properly, I just remember that the two human figurines were similar to the little green army men that you used to be able to buy in massive buckets. All the figurines would do is yell “MIIIIIIIIIIIILK!!!!!” in a funny voice and wiggle along the table/floor/surface after the bottle of milk. There may have been more than one of these ads, with the figurines in different rooms or locations.

    Please someone back me up on this. That ad existed, right???
