  1. Any chatter about what exactly transpired? Sounds like they’re trying to get in front of the story; must be pretty bad to resign without stories prior.

E: He allegedly groped two men. Thanks to those who responded with the telegraph article!

    >He stood down after assaulting two fellow guests at the Carlton Club – a Tory Party private members’ club in London’s Piccadilly – on Wednesday evening, *The Sun* claims.
    >
    >The deputy Labour leader said in a statement: “This latest episode shows how far standards in public life have been degraded on Boris Johnson’s watch.
    >
    >“Boris Johnson has serious questions to answer about why Chris Pincher was given this role in the first place and how he can remain a Conservative MP.

    >It is the second time he has quit the whip’s office, having resigned as a junior whip in November 2017 following a complaint that he made an unwanted pass at the former Olympic rower and Conservative candidate Alex Story.

    >Several Conservative MPs told *Insider* Pincher should resign, noting that colleague Neil Parish had quit his Tiverton & Honiton seat for what they consider a lesser offence.

    >One said fellow Tories were “going apoplectic” about Downing Street’s decision not to suspend Pincher from the party.
    >
    >He said the Tamworth MP’s response was “unsatisfactory” and that it appeared Number 10 was trying to “sweep it under the carpet.”
    >
    >He added: “Neil Parish didn’t grope people, he didn’t physically invade people’s space. It doesn’t add up to me.”

    >Past accusations meant Pincher should never have been made deputy chief whip earlier this year, the MP said. …

  3. At this rate, the only one left will be BoJo…and he’ll still be mumbling on about getting Brexit done-er and getting on with the job along with a couple of poorly thought out insults directed towards the opposition, after which he will retreat to his safe place…the Commons fridge

  4. That’s how you do it: make an embarrassing mistake, hand in your notice swiftly the next day. At least some Tory MPs have some sense of integrity left.

  5. He’s only resigned as deputy whip, not as an MP. Surely he should be investigated and sacked after admitting to sexual assault!? Prompting yet another by-election.

  6. Having an affair with an aide, watching porn in the commons, openly fantasising about sniffing teenage girls’ hair and now groping two people. Are the Tories not able to keep it in their trousers for at least a few weeks?

  7. Tories in his home constituency of Tamworth should deselect him. Then we can have another Johnson-rocking by-election.

  8. I get beer fear / hangover anxiety at the best of times and I’m not a “pincher”. Imagine waking up after a sesh and your drunken fuckups being talked about across the nation & media lol.
