Syria earns first Asian karate medal through Mayas Othman in Amman

Amman, Sept. 09 (SANA)   Syrian national karate team athlete Mayas Othman won a bronze medal on Tuesday at the Asian Cadet and Junior Karate Championships,  held in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Othman won the bronze medal in the under-16 category, under-54 kg weight class.

This is the first medal for the Syrian national team at these championships, in which Syria is participating with more than 20 male and female athletes.
