Turns out men are property of state and don’t have rights to their body.
Based.
Seems like no better time to be a neutral country, with potential nuclear war seemingly on the horizon
If reintroduced it really should be compulsory for all or not compulsory at all
Theres probably a lot of crying in Latvia right now, as it was in Lithuania.
Outrageous decision.
No-one should be forced to do something unwillingly
in general, conscript service in general does not work in Ukraine, about a hundred thousand people passed through it every year, but only 20 thousand of them were useful, well, they will be able to use weapons and understand commands, but it’s still worse than contract soldiers and military equipment is the same with you can’t make a tank platoon of them, a maximum of only 3 of them as a gunner. but even so, the government decided even before the war that women would also be drafted. arguing this by the fact that at present the armies of which contract women occupy 20-30 percent in terms of a number of somewhere around 50 thousand. And they say they are doing an excellent job. at least they decided to redo it to reduce the period to 4 months and focus on practice.
I expect the international feminists that are always lecturing us about how feminism is about equality for both sexes and how everyone deserves bodily autonomy will be outraged by this
Jesus christ, AGAIN its male only? When is this shit going to end. Either both genders have to do it, or no one. You cant have it both ways!
I will NEVER love a piece of land enough to die for it because some politicians think it’s a good idea to kill.
I thought men and women were equal? Funny how quickly countries discard their so-called ideals.
How disappointing to see any ‘civilized’ country still employs this discriminatory practice that is also slave labor.
