I think this is a misrepresentation of one interview. I have seen it many times now. It should be : worst drought since Italy started scientific measurements 70 years ago.
So it’s probably longer than 70 years since the last time it was so low. But maybe some Italians can correct me.

if all farmers would water crops with driplines instead of spraying it over the crops, alot of issues would be solved, but that is very expensive and timeconsuming.
a friend of mine is looking into irrigation with gps, where every plant has a location and gets water from a boom that passes over it that shoots individual shots of water on top of each plant.
he believes he can at least save 60% of water that way
And every year from now on will only get worse.
Prepare for real food shortages. The war + climate disaster will be devastating for food production.
let’s start with better agriculture measures, regulate other industries with high water usage and fix leaking water infrastructure.
also reduce the already high consumption of bottled water in countries where tap water is perfectly safe to drink..
