As an American who has lived in Ireland for 12+ years now.
Don’t tell anyone. I’m not exactly proud of the country I left behind. Mostly ashamed of the place and how they’ve gone from being respected, to a laughing stock, to “is America okay? Do they need help?”
So to the folks back there: wave the flag, celebrate, and reminisce on a time when the country wasn’t as fucked. Or we at least didn’t notice it as much.

Considering a bunch of old men and some religious slag just decided that myself and every other woman in the US no longer has bodily autonomy… nah. Thanks though, but as much as I love my country America has become a fucking dumpster fire and I’m grateful to be here instead.
