New to this, and didn’t realize there was a difference until I bought it. Looks like a 100mm one goes as base normally, then this one perpendicular on top. Should I get the 100mm too?
The house I moved into has basically none so trying to improve it myself a bit.

What size are your joists? If they are 150mm, you should get that size for in between the joists. Cut it to size whilst still in the bag, tidier that way.
Then you should put another ( at least) 150mm perpendicular to that. Make sure the insulation goes all the way over the inner leaf blocks at the edge. This can be very tight to get to. But do not, repeat, do not block the eave vents ( if you have them) at the sides. This will cause condensation in your roof. Also be careful of the recessed lights if you have them. I like to put a clay pot over them and lay the insulation over that. This stops draughts entering the dwelling
Don’t forget your PPE – mask, gloves and goggles. I’d even consider disposable overalls for this job.
