This is somewhat odd reporting, the Dollar has just jumped (Against the pound and the Euro) seemingly on the back of inflation data and interest rate expectation.
Unless the BoE loses its fear of raising interest rates, we are going to continue seeing the loss of international purchasing power. The pound was already struggling due to the UK deciding to shoot itself in the foot with Brexit, but the increasing recognition that we can’t even seemingly tolerate tiny 0.25% rises in interest rates is making it clear we’re kinda a basket case.
