Aer Lingus: More flights cancelled due to Covid

  1. I can’t shake the feeling that Aer Lingus are in even more trouble than they’re letting on.

I had an aer Lingus flight cancelled by them this week but was on another flight with them the previous week and it was a bit of a mess too. Got a text just before the flight saying they had no food on board so you should buy some before boarding. When on board it was like something out of father ted; “I hope you all received our message, unfortunately I only have a handful of chicken and stuffing sandwiches and the only snacks we have are Pringles”

Then the toilet at the front flooded/stopped draining halfway through the flight. Was a mess overall. That same stuff with no food/some supplier problem was happening with them last September when I flew with them too so it’s not due to some amorphous Ukrainian supply chain issue.

Our new Air France was delayed a bit, but all in all was much smoother, cleaner and put together than anything with Aer Lingus (Paris airport strikes notwithstanding). On a side note, I always hated CDG but right now it makes Dublin airport look like a fucking carpark in Mosney.

Just have this feeling we’ll be hearing about strikes/paycuts or some shenanigans happening at Aer Lingus in the near future. All airlines are susceptible to Covid but apparently Aer Lingus are among the few cancelling flights due to it.

  2. Covid my bollix, only flight company having constant issues with it, and for far too long at this stage with no solution, screams management

  3. Flying back to the states today. Aer Lingus flight delayed 1.5 hours due to staffing shortage. Dublin has to be one of the worst airports in the world. Signage sucks, go through security 3 times. Even getting the boarding pass was a pain in the ass
