While Dutch farmers protest to be able to continue to fuck up the climate and the Dutch water, Italian farmers get to feel climate change for real.
Wonder how the attitude will change, when climate change knocks on the door of Netherlands.
Poor reporting by Politico on this occasion. The police claim they targeted only a tractor that was being driven at them, not any farmers, and so far it seems the only damage is to a tractor and nobody has been injured, which corroborates this version of events. Also we don’t know if it was farmers or some random troublemakers who drove at the police. So while there is no evidence that police fired at farmers and it is still an allegation, the title should be that “police allegedly fire on farmers”.
An investigation has been opened, anyway.

Many farmers worldwide, watched what Ukrainian farmers were capable of with their tractors, it seems.
Thread full of dutch leftists trying to justify shooting at minors they politically disagree with and trying to frame it as them “charging the police” even when the video evidence clearly shows otherwise….Just another day on Reddit I guess.
As an Italian I can’t help but think that news like these or some that come out from France regarding police operations mean that the police in other countries is not well prepared to tackle protests, crowds and unrest. Obviously this has a good side, because it comes from the fact that Italy has seen way more violence and unrest in the past compared to most other EU countries, but it shouldn’t be a justification to panic at every small thing. The police have to protect these people too, they don’t have to instantly eliminate every single protester.
