After temporarily closing earlier this month while refurbishment work took place, the store, situated on Trinity Street is reopening to the public today, Thursday September 17.
The store has undergone a substantial upgrade as part of Iceland’s ongoing commitment to create the most efficient and enjoyable shopping experiences for local customers.

Among the improvements, shoppers will find new self‑service checkouts, offering more flexibility and helping to keep queues moving during busy periods.
The exterior has also been refreshed with a brand-new shop front, while inside, the layout has been redesigned to make the store easier to navigate, as well as improved fixtures and fittings throughout to further elevate the overall shopping experience.

As part of the reopening, the store is celebrating one of Dorchester’s longest-serving colleagues, Anita Savage, who has been part of the team for many years.
Reflecting on her time at Iceland, Anita said: “I’ve seen lots of changes at our Dorchester store over the years, but one thing has always stayed the same: the fantastic colleagues I work with every day.
“I’m excited to see the refreshed store come to life. These improvements will create an even better experience for our customers while showcasing the great products and friendly service we’re known for.”
The store is also recognising Grocery Worker, Christopher Chorley, who joined the Dorchester team in 2005.
Christopher said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing the difference the refurbishment makes for our customers and colleagues alike.
“Having worked at the store for more than 20 years, it’s always felt like a second home to me. The team and the local community deserve a modern, welcoming space, and I can’t wait to see everyone enjoying the refreshed store.”
The Dorchester store is open 8am–7pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am–4pm on Sundays.
