It is per capita and there are many, many people contributing to that who live in surrounding countries communing to Lux every day.
And the fucking assholes in the government are going to Brussels to lobby against making nuclear energy be considered a green energy.
Isn‘t that the statistic where the emissions from the cars of cross-border workers and people refuelling gas in Luxembourg is considered? Cause then it‘s absolute nonsense. It‘s so wrong to say Luxembourg is causing this, as the people would be refuelling the same amount somewhere else on the planet if Luxembourg didn‘t exist and the workers would still have to drive their car to work.
Remember the CO2 taxes that are being slowly introduced on Luxembourg fuel to help combat this phenomena? I mean what does it help with climate change if people buy their fuel elsewhere once it gets too exepensive in Luxembourg? Our statistic might look better then but the world surely doesn‘t.
Luxembourg is #1, but from 2004 to 2019, it reduced from 30t to 20t. The plot is capped but the reduction is impressive.
Isn’t the steel manufacturing playing a huge part in this number?
Have you seen all the petrol stations near the borders? It’s a common site to see people from France Germany and Belgium buy petrol in Luxembourg. This means we have more emissions per capita as we have an extra amount of fuel being sold per capita.
Further more the graph only goes to 18 and is misleading. If you look at the numbers in the flag they are actually coming down, just not to the point where the graph shows
I’d say it is the fault of the “per capita”
Always puts us in a bad light since we are so few ….
In 2010 it was 30, in 2020 20… so still pole position, but a reduction of 50%
