2. What do you want the government to do to fix global commodity price increases?

3. Can I ask how much disability allowance is and are there any other allowances that you might qualify for? Can you work a small amount of hours somewhere? Genuinely curious. It seems to be very difficult to live off, especially recently.

4. Tayto? Absolutely no room for food that isn’t dinner in the budget and I work a job. What’s it like a euro these days? Used to be 5p.

5. Those fizzy taytos are fecking rank. Usually if I don’t like a crisps, I would still nibble on them. But these things went straight into the bin.

9. I came off my disability because 1. No one would insure me for a house and 2. I couldn’t afford to live on disability.

10. I still don’t understand why disability allowance and jobseekers is the same rate. After all the main incentive for getting off jobseekers is more money. Yet on disability you’re stuck at that rate long term.

12. More frustrating is the government are trialing a thing called “Basic Income” which gives artists €325 and yet disability is still only €208.

13. I was on illness benefit for a year and it was rough! I feel for you man. I work part time service industry and the difference whilst I still struggle, is crazy! People don’t realise just how bad it is on benefits, giving out about a welfare state and how x y and z should be cut, but if anyone of those people had to live on those allowances for an extended period of time they would be saying otherwise. The Covid payment alone proved that. People were given 350, nearly double the amount of SW payments, it was the govt way of confirming that’s the minimum what’s needed to survive. People will insist oh but rent and bills and mortgages still had to be paid, Covid was unexpected. Well getting ill or needing to go on disability is hardly something you know about in advance. It fucking sucks man and I feel awful for you man I know how awful it is!
