Sukhoboky was banned from the ministry and sent to the monastery. “He is forbidden to preach on behalf of the church, wear the priest’s cross and preach the blessing to the people of God,” the document says.
The day before, Sukhobokiy said that on Sunday he had come to church to receive Holy Communion. After communion from the staff of the cathedral, he told him that the bishop had forbidden the priest to enter the territory of the temple. “We were told that you should already leave for the monastery and there is nothing for you to do here. Please resolve this issue with your superiors, ”Sukhobokiy quoted a temple employee.
Sukhobokiy is a cleric of the Transfiguration Cathedral.
In October, Sukhobokiy said that he was fired from his post as press secretary of the Melekess diocese after he wrote on Facebook that he was ready to “shake hands” with Alexei Navalny after the opposition leader was awarded the Andrei Sakharov Prize. According to the priest, the next day Bishop Diodorus called him and said that he was “interested.”
In mid-November, Sukhoboky was banned from serving and sent for six months to “spiritual rehabilitation” in the Holy Mother of God-Zhadovsky Monastery. In the bishop’s decree, this was explained by the fact that the priest gave interviews to “anti-church” publications and brought confusion among the parishioners.
Later, the priest was called to the police because someone wrote a statement against the local bishop Diodorus about offending the feelings of believers. Sukhobokiy called this statement a provocation, noting that he was skeptical about this law.
