SN5 Catering was registered at 2 Roughmoor Village Centre in Peatmoor and traded as Bengal Square.

The business passed a resolution to wind up its affairs and appoint a voluntary liquidator earlier this month.

Following a change of management and a major revamp in April 2026, the restaurant trading on that site is now known as Bombay Lounge.

New documents published on Companies House reveal the state of SN5 Catering’s finances before it became insolvent.

The company had £6,005.57 in assets, which consisted of £5.57 held on trust and a £6,000 deposit for costs, but its liabilities totalled £101,693.41.

These included debts of £7,372.41 owed to HM Revenue & Customs for VAT and PAYE, an £80,000 debt to the Home Office for an Immigration Enforcement penalty, £1,500 owed to Royal Associates Accountants in Birmingham, and a director’s loan account of £12,821.

After accounting for preferential claims, the documents estimate a deficiency of £95,787.84, meaning unsecured creditors are unlikely to recover the vast majority of what they are owed.

The filings also show that Hanif Shahajahan Robbani was the sole shareholder, holding 100 ordinary shares with a total nominal value of £100.

According to the winding-up notice, “the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily”.

The Indian restaurant was known as Bombay Lounge for several years before switching to Bengal Square in 2015 and is now back to trading under its original name.

The new management is unrelated to SN5 Catering and has overseen a successful relaunch of the Indian restaurant which has attracted positive feedback and reviews.

As Bengal Square, the restaurant earned a 4.4 rating based on 266 Trip Advisor reviews and received a Traveller’s Choice pick for 2026.

The new venture has continued that high standard of service, already accruing a 4.6 rating based on 27 Google reviews.

A spokesperson said on social media when it reopened: “For years, Bengal Square has been about incredible food, warm hospitality, and unforgettable flavours.

“We’re excited to share that Bengal Square is evolving into Bombay Lounge.

“What’s new? More atmosphere. More energy. More to enjoy. This isn’t goodbye – it’s an upgrade.

“The existing owner is going to be more hands on and involved as he was when it was previously Bombay Lounge.”
