She says whilst being part of a government that has continually cut the size of the British army
Also, Taiwan has four massive artillery guns in concrete bunkers pointed at a Chinese city 24/7. I for one would not want to be on the receiving end of four 240mm artillery guns.
Just do it then, Mrs. Global Britain. Sovereignty and so.
Polite reminder that Truss is apparently the best we can do. Shame on each and every tory voter
I hate that politicians in the West are progressively preparing the ground for a cold war / arms race against China. Such geopolitical dick-swinging does nothing but cause live wars in other (usually poor) countries and enrich weapons makers.
Especially so because the wealth of the West is so dependent upon Chinese manufacturing that Western governments would never actually enter conflict with China. Why are we buying the weapons and doing the posturing if everyone knows it’s a bluff?
She’s right Taiwan makes around 80% of all Microchips if anything happens to those plants the west will literally have their pants pulled down by China
Yes.
And given the shitty position we’ve put ourselves in, we also mustn’t do anything to offend China.
So whoever is foreign secretary will need to walk a very difficult tightrope balancing these conflicting necessities won’t they Liz?
