Inquiry starts into whether Boris Johnson misled Parliament over the partygate scandal | Evening Standard

  1. Well its a bit mute since everybody knows he did, it’s all documented. except of course accidentally on purpose not investigating the private parties at No 10.

the problem is that the inevitable white wash, or slight tutting by the investigation will further undermine peoples faith in government.

  2. He certainly misled parliament, however their angle will be whether he knowingly misled parliament, which of course he did, but it’s much harder to prove someone’s intentions.

  3. He should resign. But I fear if he does… what might come next is Prime Minister Priti Patel. She would be a nightmare in my opinion.

  4. How much tax payer money must we waste on this massive cunt. My anger for him is in-fucking-surmountable at this moment in time. I have never EVER been so ashamed of my country and how it acts. If the next election goes the tories way I’m off, plenty of jobs for a sys admin in Europe.

  5. This could lead to the funny scenario of basically breaking the UK government, well constitutionally at-least.

    * Enquiry finds Johnson in the wrong, and issue a 10+ day parliamentary suspension

    * Due to above his constituency can then collect signatures to have a by-election

    * By-election is run, and Johnson loses, thereby is no longer an MP

    * Then the Leader of the conservative party and the Prime Minister is not an MP

The conservatives can’t get rid of Johnson due to no confidence immunity, and he could refuse to resign as PM, leading to a constitution crisis.

I know the above is unlikely, but i would find it hilarious if this actually happened and the utter shitshow that would follow.

  6. It’s mental that there needs to be an inquiry considering there’s a 0% chance he didn’t ‘mislead’ parliament…especially since it’s not even the first fucking time. Remember that time he lied to the Queen, too?

He’s done nothing but fucking lie, cheat, manipulate, and bully his way through his entire life living in his Boris character because ol’ Alexander here has zero personality of his own or attributes that would make him someone you want to know, much less be friends with.

Throw the lying floppy haired walking ballsack in the tower of London and give the key to a pig to eat, then blast that pig into space on a rocket to send it adventuring around the Solar System and won’t make a fly past of Earth for another 54,000 years

  7. I see how this is gonna go. Either the report will be deliberately whitewashed or will reach a damning verdict on Boris Johnson. He apologizes, refuses to stand down and vows to lead the Conservative Party into another election.

Another VONC is held, Boris survives because most of his MPs have no backbone. Another few Conservative ministers resign. One MP defects to Labour.

2024 comes, everybody still votes Conservative because our electorate is fickle.

  8. Of vcourse he did. But let’s waste thousands of pounds investigating something we already know the anwser to.
More smoke and mirrors as the government fuck us over even more.

  9. This inquiry should take all of ten minutes. It’s documented that he went to parties. It documented that he lied about them.

    Done.

  10. I personally would like to see Johnson stay for as long as possible.

He’s absolute poison to their chances of winning another GE, and is tearing the tories apart.
