MPs should not bring babies into Commons chamber, review says

  1. In a country where childcare is basically unaffordable for the working class, and where a single mum stays at home on a miserable payment of income support because of the lack of affordable nurseries and childcare

Bringing a baby to work is to show how tough a day to day mary’s life is.

Yeah i know she is rich, probably got a rich husband etc they can afford nurseries or a good nanny but bringing the baby to parliament is to show those old white rich men who never changed a nappy in their lives and very rarely interact with their children, what being a parent on your own really is.

Dont like the idea of motherhood ? Tough, not everyone was born in a big wig family, mums are workers too, not every woman has got the privelege to be a house wife until kid is 5.

I admire what she did, I see it more as a message as to how much people struggle, specially mums.

  2. Good.

It’s one of the Chambers of the Houses Of Parliament, a serious place where laws are made. Not a single MP ever needs to take their baby into that specific room; those who do it are just attention-seeking LARPers.

  3. Here we stand, babies banned because so many men in Parliament flee their family and household responsibilities that the mere sounds of children drive them to distraction … much like the aroma of cheese distracts the PM if he works from home.

  4. Loud, obnoxious, crying, constantly making strange noises with no understanding of what’s going. MPs really don’t create a good environment for babies.

  5. Potentially controversial opinion but…. too right.

Now, there should be sufficient childcare services provided for MPs who are parents (and everyone else in the country too please), but babies do not belong in the national legislative chamber of the United Kingdom during debates, votes, etc.
