I didn’t realize there were so many scholars of US Constitutional law and our Federalist system of governance in the EU Parliament. Fascinating.
Perhaps they can take some time out of their clearly busy schedules to lecture some of our soldiers now deployed in Europe about it. After all there are now more American troops deployed in Europe than at any other point in the last 30 years as a result of the geopolitical situation that’s developed in no small part from the breathtaking leadership and foresight of many of the fine folks selflessly serving in said Parliament.
I’m sure our troops would be thrilled at the chance to take a break from training and preparing for a potential war to defend our friends and allies for the honor and privilege to hear from such eminent experts on the subject.
There is no human right to have an abortion.
In fact abortion laws in Europe are way more restrictive than most US states.
Seriously? I am American woman. You are being ridiculous. I applaud the EU Parliament for coming out against this. The majority of Americans also condemn our Supreme Courts ruling against abortion. My family has been here before the Revolutionary war and fought together with our European Allies over and over. We will NEVER walk away from our commitment to support our friends. You do not speak for our country and your statements are embarrassing and more likely than not pure propaganda aimed at causing division.
Most of the US has more liberal abortion laws than most of Europe. The US was never supposed to be as federalized as it is now. It was meant to be much more like the EU than one country. That’s one of the reasons I found Brexit so funny. You had your own little secession, except you let them go instead of trying to fight to keep them.
