  1. I have one moth and a few other random sky raisins flapping about my tv right now if that makes you feel any better

  2. I get a load of moths in every night with my window slightly cracked open. Tonight is like a plague of them with the window fully open. 3 nice sized spiders in the house today too but I do fortunately live in tallaght and as we know the biodiversity and ecosystem here is the epitome of life and the absolute peak of Ireland.

  3. Here when I turn on the bathroom light at night there is a moth the size of a big spider outside the window. absolute brute of a thing.

  4. I’ve noticed this too. Got many a bollocking for leaving windows open when I was younger, the place would be full of insects. Way less around now

  5. Those are LED lights aren’t they? I always thought they were attracted to either the heat or infra red coming from old incandescent bulbs so those might not attract them.

  6. Speak for yourself, there’s a queue to get into my gaff. Open a window any time of day or night and there’s at least 1 fly inside within 20mins.

  7. Late to the party, but here’s the solution. Leave as much land as you can to rewild itself, just leave it alone. Maybe build an insect hotel out of old pallets if you want. Old log piles, stacks of brash, dig a big hole and let it fill with water, but generally, just leave the land alone.

Here’s the biggie though… switch to organic for as much as you can afford (it makes an absolutely colossal difference, regardless of what the shills for Big Fertiliser will tell you), and try to cut as much meat from your diet as you can. Sorry.

  8. My wife left the bathroom window open and the light on last night.

The walls used to be white, now they’re an insecty black.
