NHS App to offer video consultations by 2024

  1. That’s nice, but if my Doctor can’t spare an appointment time for me now in person doing it digitally doesn’t change that.

  2. Anyone who works in the NHS will laugh at the sheer optimism behind this. It will not happen on time and it will not work as intended or lack the necessary humans on the other side. Plus no clue how they plan to make pre-op apps magically digital.

  3. “Welcome to NHS digital, before we proceed with your consultation, have your proof of illness from the government approved Capita Health Check representative at hand. Please be aware that if you have not been consulted by the Capita Health Check, this consultation will not proceed. Press ‘0’ to enter your 39 digit authorisation code or ‘1’ to book an appointment with a Capita Health Check using our World Beating ^TM appointment system brought to you by G4S. Thank you.”

  4. Here’s my guess. It will be way over budget, late, full of bugs and exploits upon first deployment then outsourced to Google. Also, the overall cost will be at least double that of the training for new doctors and nurses.
