
Gustav is currently swimming from Stockholm to Helsinki to raise awareness about the condition of the Baltic Sea. Since the start on the 3rd of June, Gustav has now swum 350km and is approaching Helsinki at a good pace. Swimming 10-15km a day the arrival at Helsinki should be on the 11th of July.
This challenge is the longest staged swim arranged in the Baltic Sea, beating the old record of 333km.
In recent years, the Baltic Sea has suffered from increased algae growth as well as loss of biodiversity. Not to mention the litter, microplastics, and harmful substances. You can read more about the threats over at:
