  1. It could also be a meeting point in case of evacuation. We have this in our parkinglot. When there is a firedrill we have to leave the office and meet there so they can make sure everyone has left the building. The place doesn’t have to be big, just in a secure distance to the building and also not in the way for the firefighters or other rescue teams.

  2. The sign means meeting point for a group. The color scheme (Green/White) indicates emergency.

So it’s an emergency meeting point, you’d usually have these outside of big buildings, eg. schools.

  3. Assembly point sign: *a place where people in an office, etc. should go if there is an emergency, for example, a fire: Assembly point signs are essential for identifying areas of safety where persons should assemble in the event of an emergency.*

  4. It means that in case of a evacuation of the building that’s probably near by, people should meet up there.

  5. That’s the official emergency meeting point. Often used by office buildings to have a better oversight how many may be missing for evacuation

  6. I had an IT assignment in an office next to an industrial facility… Although I stayed temporarily, but the safety training was mandatory, including evacuating in the event of a fire and meeting next to the signal. Similar to the one in your picture.

  7. that’s a place where a football regularly falls from the sky and up to three men can try to hit it it with their head. if you are the first to hit the ball you win a full round of gruyère or 10 kg of chocolate or a rolex, depending on the local customs and on the canton. you can try your luck and wait there 30 minutes for the ball, I got it a couple of times.

  8. Emergency collection area, such as for fire. My schools in Germany had some. We went to them during fire practices.
