Aside from Micheal Martin, who as a man I’ve an enormous amount of respect for as a statesman and a gentleman, what do Fianna Fail offer other than being a slightly more agrarian and populist version of Fine Gael?
Their ministers look like absolute numpties compared to their counterparts in the Greens and FG, and they don’t have any leader coming though that would make you think “he or she will be a good Taoiseach one day”.
Their best asset is probably Micheal Martin and as great as he is as a man, he’s not a campaigner. He won’t win you an election against Leo Varadkar, Eamon Ryan and Mary Lou McDonald.
