  1. >Among the suggestions was a proposal from Jim O’Callaghan to hold a referendum on the Special Criminal Court.

    >The move would be aimed at getting public support for non-jury courts while also embarrassing Sinn Féin who are opposed to the courts.

You couldn’t make it up, with all the problems our country is facing and all FF want to do is embarrass SF.

  2. They should be discussing how they save their own bacon and go independent because the party is irrelevant and will disappear into obscurity. Even my parents see them as the same as FG. FG will last as their shrewder in their PR and all the grey arseholes and rich who only care about their pensions and everything staying the same will vote them back in.

FF are rudderless and MM is setting sail into Taoiseach pensionhood or Europe or becoming a lobbying douchebag to ingratitude himself or his mates even more. Jim O’Callaghan just wants to be leader once before it goes completely tits up

  3. “The almost two-hour Fianna Fáil gathering heard suggestions from senior party figures on how to revive Fianna Fáil’s support ahead of the next election.”

If only there was some sort of crisis they could attempt to address? 🤔

  4. The PD’s used to be the neo-liberal brake on FF and were in effect an arm of FF having split from the party in the early 80s.

It just strikes me lately how much FF now resemble the PD’s under Martin’s leadership, and given the point of the PD’s was to be FG without joining FG having been FFer’s themselves, you’d now wonder what the point of FF is.

  5. “What we need is some snazzy looking young types in the party to make us look cool.”

“Great idea!, we could take a photo of then wearing tshirts and jeans, that’s what young people wear now!”

  6. Reads like the Tories asking for brexit ideas after they already left the EU.

Guys you’re in power, if you hadn’t come up with what you wanted to do before being elected, then that’s the problem.

  7. 30 TDs.

    That most of them

I guess it’s do or die because at this rate we are looking at the last FF Taoiseach

  8. This is FF about to lose the role of Taoiseach, reverting to classic FF type and trying to figure out how to renege on the deal now that they’ve had the best of it.
