Hi, recently found some addresses from 1900 upto 1945 for some of my czech family members. the family home was Tismice 8, but google maps is showing me 2 different places with the same address. Any help appreciated, I don’t get czech addresses!! thanks!

  1. Hi, this is actualy interesting, because it has not happened to me so far 🙂

    My bet would be the bottom one near the crossing. I tried to use a different map and the top one is in Czech “Tismice ev. č. 8”, and the bottom one just “Tismice 8”. First should mean something like “parcel registration number”, but it honestly doesnt make sense to me…

  2. The southern one should be the correct one. The northern one uses the evidence number line for temporary/recreational structures and that apparently wasn’t a thing till 1960s.

  3. None of these is correct. Current adress would be Tismice 3,4 or 57. The three buldings were part of an estate (presumably) and are all marked as “8” on older maps (8/1,8/2,8/3). The buildings are still there, as you can see on an older aerial map.
