So this is what Luka meant when he was babbling something about Poland wanting to retake their former lands 🤔
This map is bad in so many categories:
* the most obvious thing is of course Belarus labeled as Poland
* this map is made by BBC which is a national broadcaster in the UK, which is a part of NATO. One should display their alliance and its members in blue and the enemy in red, not the other way around. Where do they think the term “blue on blue” (which means friendly fire) comes from?
* all the blues on this map are too close to each other: borders are clear only between red countries not blue ones, blue countries having access to sea may seem like… sea – at first I haven’t noticed Ireland at all. Islands and peninsulas look smaller, and Polish Hel peninsula is completely invisible.
* They made an effort to label Ukraine and Belarus (improperly but still) but somehow forget to label Moldova and since its border is not visible it looks like a part of Ukraine.
* there should be a clear distinction between Russia + Belarus and Ukraine. I know this map is more about NATO and Sweden + Finland but still, this map does not present the context well (and funny thing this program/show is named “the context”).
* why label on Russia is of different color than other country names?
* I know Finland’s border is different because they probably talked about new NATO border but why Crimea’s is outlined like that and why its color is different? Why no markings on occupied Donbas at all?
