  1. it’s already well over that. inflation is measured by a basket of goods by the CSO. they don’t factor in fuel and rent increases properly.

  2. No surprise there, its already over 10% in many parts of Europe and indeed over 20% in the likes of Estonia and Lithuania.

  3. The worst part is they are saying it will “reduce” to 4% next year. But that’s on top of the 10% this year. Same with the 2% the following year. That’s on top of the 10% and the 4%

  4. Meh. about on average if not a bit lower than the EU standard at the moment.

Yes it sucks, but it is where the world currently is.
This is a global event. It’s not like this is some isolated incident that we can exclusively blame the current Irish government for.

Won’t stop a lot of people from doing it anyway though.

  5. I always find the official rates don’t reflect reality on the ground or the “feels” of inflation. It’s usually 2* as much as the official rate when you try to live out in it.

  6. I thinks it’s some where around 20 percent here.
Diesel is gone up about 20 percent. Electricity and gas are 30 ish percent. I used to buy a 5 pack of burger in a local shop for a fiver they are gone up 30 percent to 6.50.

No way is it 10 percent

  7. Then fucking up the pay and pay people more then you greedy fucking bastards

I hate money hungry fucks who sit in execurive positions collecting constant “performance bonuses” and then turn around and say “oh sure if we raise the pay then there’ll be even more inflation”

The greatest trick capitalism has ever done is convince people that they deserve to be poor. Its funny how productivity has skyrocketed since the 1980s and we get paid barely even a fraction of what we produce

If workers were paid their fare share of the value they produce life would be a lot better, instead we have people working miserable dead end jobs only to go home to their parents house because its literally impossible for them to save up money unless they start robbing banks
