I have never seen that cheese in real life but from the looks of it it’s pretty obvious it should be in the fridge
Best practise is to keep them refrigerated until they reach your desired maturity. Then you should let them ait out at room temp for a few hours before consumption.
8 hours in tge open is not the end of the world (depending on what the situation was)
