Six years on, the cold reality of Brexit is hitting Britain

  1. I don’t recall many stories of ‘incredible wealth’ being put forward as an argument to leave the EU. The article isn’t very clear on why it thinks the current problems are caused by Brexit, as opposed to the massive costs of COVID, plus the Ukraine war.

  2. But will people choose to admit Brexit was their fault and seek to regain EU membership? I suspect a lot of Leave voters will deny their part in it, or think we should grit our teeth and get on with life outside the EU. There is no sign that those unsatisfied with how their Brexit turned out want to reverse the decision.

  3. Am I the only one who has a problem with this “six years on from Brexit” headline that keeps being thrown around?

It’s been 2 years since actual Brexit and only 1 since it fully came into practice.
