  1. 34°C is normal for summer though and people who’ve been living here are quite used to it. 30°C is a cool summer day.

39°C / 40°C though, fuck that. And fuck this weather too, so hazy and stuffy.

  2. Maltese here. I hate heatwaves with a passion. I passed next to a service station this morning and the temperature was already 43 and it was barely 9 in the morning.

Yesterday was way worse, could not lower my body temperature and felt the sensation that I was being cooked alive. I think that yesterday was 45 if not 48 degrees.

I am doing my part to reduce my footprint and I quite an environmental aware person but these heatwaves are too ****ing much. The gov really needs to do something to put more awareness about global warming to the population. Try to reduce waste, promote public transportation, do initiatives to local businesses to avoid using harmful single use disposables and promote reusable items such as reusable cups in cafes (Costa and Starbucks are already promoting them). We must reduce our carbon footprint for sooner or later with this inhospitable heat, we might become environmental refugees.

I meant no offense with this comment but I am quite knowledgeable on this subject.

  3. I drove my motorcycle this past two days and I’m not doing it again. I got dehydrated and had a headache whilst riding. The wind is too hot.

  4. I agree that Malta is too hot, last time I was there over 20 years ago I swore that I would never complain about our Canadian winters… But for perspective in Toronto it’s about 30c most days in the summer, but on the flip side we get many days that are -20c or even colder in the winter, and we have to shovel snow so that’s always fun /s

  5. Yes OP I’m seeing it and dreading it, mostly because I have to wear a suit to work every day. Spare a thought…

  6. So glad I’m going back to Belgium today. Fuck this country, no offense.

Way too hot, some crackhead in Paceville tried to sell me the shittiest weed and coke ever (& then started begging me for money when I refused, saying he’s homeless and needs money to survive), some dude in a mini market scammed us with a broken charger and refused to give us our money back, buses don’t come in time or don’t come at all, people constantly try to sell you stuff or activities, there’s always something that doesn’t work in the hotels and you wake up at 6 am because of loud Malta noises, and I could go on and on.

I spent 10 days here and it felt like a grind, not a vacation.

If you’re coming to Malta, don’t come in the summer and stay away from the cities (except for Valletta maybe). Nature and the little towns are the only nice things here.

  7. I dont understand why the humidity level is so low but it feels a hell of a lot higher than other countries that are higher on paper?

I had 45-50c in Sevilla last year and it was almost more pleasant than the 37c here yesterday?

  8. The country is not just badly designed .. it’s designed badly by intention. Corruption and Greed and dirty politics are delivering!

The most obvious way to improve the situation is to plant trees and on a massive scale and not just for a photo opportunity by some sleazy corrupt politician who then knocks off early after the photo shoot to relax be his pool built in ODZ.
