Times slammed for ‘shockingly misleading’ bar chart on Boris Johnson’s popularity

  1. While we’re angry at all this blatantly obvious bullshit, we’re not taking action to get the prick and his cohorts out of power.

  2. I believe the bars are the right size but the numbers are from a different poll. Someone from the Times explained it on Twitter with sources etc

  3. You’d hope Times readers would be intelligent enough to spot the mistake and complain, regardless of how they view Johnson. I know the Times want to suck up to Johnson but this is just embarrassing, even for them.

  4. They should be prosecuted. If there is no legal consequences, they will just keep doing it.

  5. The problem with this story is it’s BS. It was a typo in the online edition, the numbers were wrong not the bars. The print edition was never wrong.

Sources like this love to drum up cheap and fake outrage for people who like to read things they agree with and don’t check sources. Which is exactly the right is accused of.

Sensationalist non stories like this do nothing to solve actual issues in the media and just make it more corrosive.

  6. Sometimes it’s not a conspiracy; sometimes it’s just an honest mistake.

I have my issues with The Times but this is clearly a simple mistake. The fury with which some on this sub have commented is making you look a bit silly.
