  1. I hope the government will consider sending weaponry to Ukraine. with all due respect to our own armed forces, Irish anti tank missiles can be put to use in Ukraine. Of course it would only be a drop in the ocean but I think it would be a proper gesture of support to Ukraine.

  2. I’ll openly admit I’m a cynical prick, but the pictures of the politicians visiting Ukraine looking heartbroken after seeing the destroyed buildings always look forced for the camera.

These are lads who try to remain stoic at all times no matter what happens and regularly come across as heartless in the media, but the sight of some buildings reduced to rubble makes them react like this apparently.

  3. In fairness how is he supposed to look? There’s plenty of ammunition for ye to have a go at these pricks but this seems childish and spiteful.

  4. The reactions to this show how many users of this sub have been sheltered by the realness of war. If you think seeing Irpin in ruins, one of the worst hit areas in Ukraine where Russia committed war crimes, wouldn’t affect him, understand you’ve lived a very, very privileged life.

  5. He could at least have ironed his shirt. He now looks like a call centre agent attending an unplanned meeting.

  6. He’s an arsehole but c’mon he is human

How could anyone even suggest he’s faking it

How would you react if you saw that suffering in person?
