Someone has never [heard](https://youtu.be/NdCxHJIYz8I) a donkey in the middle of the night.
It’s all true. Reminded me of this:

Noisy as fuck though, couple a few Fields up from my uncle and inside the house you could still hear them braying like maniacs. Yeah no thanks
There is genuinely nothing sadder than seeing a donkey in a field by itself, especially one that’s been hobbled. They are among the most sociable animals.
There was one near my family home that would get free from the field all the time and just happily wander. Had to keep it in our garden a few times.
Here’s a outing for you OP [the Donkey Sanctuary](https://www.thedonkeysanctuary.ie/) in Liscarroll, north Cork.
Lovely post such friendly animals
Love a good ass!
Also great if you need to move a giant pile of rocks from one mountainside to another without as much as a drop of diesel.
There used to be a donkey in a field near me who I’d go and chill with occasionally. The lad who owned the field got two baby goats who were very cute, and he would leave a few bottles near the gate so that we could feed them.
One day I was giving the kids their bottles, the donkey had had enough of me feeding them and was jealous of the attention they were getting. He picked one of the kids up by the tail and swung the poor fucker halfway down the field so he could come and give me a nuzzle.
It was both horrifying and hilarious. Donkeys are full of character.
The goat was fine, other than a bit of a bruised arse.
I used to have a couple of rescue ones, they’re great pets. They’re very sociable and love to be with other donkeys – and they love sheep. Put them in a field with sheep and they’ll chase off any foxes or dogs that dare to interfere with them.
In saying that, they can be fierce grumpy too when they get into a bad mood!
Donkeys are also stone cold killers. If you want an animal to protect another group of animals, Donkey.
Back when my wife was learning forensic pathology and had to digest all those gruesome pictures for her exam there was only one which made her ill:
2 donkeys headkicked their owner and half-ate his body.

Every time we see a donkey she says “ugh”. Have a good night sleep lads.
The big, fuzzy heads on them… what’s not to love?!
Cutest animals in Ireland until they start hawing at 3am for no reason. There was one that lived about a half a mile up the road from me when I was younger and when I would sleep with my window open it would wake me in the middle of the night. Always greeted me at the gate as I walked past waiting for a headscritch sometimes also hawing which would frighten the shite out of me walking home in the dark stoned as a maggot.
There was a halting site at the end of the road where I grew up, so there was always donkeys around. Lovely animals.
A couple of them blocked the road one day and stopped cars from coming down. The combined noise of donkeys braying, horns beeping and people swearing made me curious (as it would). It turned out there was a toddler playing on the road and they were keeping the cars away from her.
I am fairly convinced that I could never be friends with someone who doesn’t like donkeys.
They are very sociable friendly creatures and make a great burglar alarm as well.
Im making waffles!
My Dad had a donkey for years, he was a stud donkey too, we’d have him borrowed out to other farms around the area a few times a year. Absolutely lovely animals, so sweet and gentle in most instances, great with kids too.
