Movement is a form of wast that needs to be reduced. They spent extra resources to make sure the waste continues.
Architectes tend to build parcs like the ikea
Desire paths are freaking awesome
I always die a little inside when I see examples like on the ~~left~~ other left where the city tries to *block* people’s natural behavior (which is almost always the best option) instead of actually improving that desire path by paving it.

On the technology campus of KU Leuven in Ghent there is 1 big desire path that everybody takes, they don’t pave it but they also don’t block it.
Just to be fair, in the Netherlands is exactly the same

At least y’all have healthcare and don’t get shot while protesting.
Ohio is a shithole.
Awesome now show me how kent state deals with student protests and compare that to Belgium lol
Let’s just pave everything, no more need to put fences, no need to tend the grass, no more pesky insects, it’s probably cheap too.
I don’t like the left and the right could be done better if someone would care a little.
In niewpoort the main park in the city center had 1 big elephant pad running diogonnaly across it. They paved it
In Aalst, they paved the path between the trees that leads to the Odisee campus in the 10’s. For decades that was a dirt path and I believe when they redid the bicycle road they also made that solid.
Right before or during the pandemic they even one-upped it and poured concrete.
