Now if only the bottom one reliably went from where I live to where I need to go multiple times a day…
The ongoing efforts to defund our public transport makes me so angry.
Jullie mensen zijn niet in besef van hoe een ellende de openbaar vervoer of met de fiets (nog extra pech door slecht weer) de afstand tussen werk en woon is. Ik veronderstel dat deze aanhangers van openbaar vervoer en fiets gedoe, de optimale omstandigheden hebben met welke ze op een heel vlot en makkelijk en ook nog eens comfortabel naar werk kunnen gaan, laat mij nog eens zwijgen over de work from home mensen die Durven commentaar te geven. Mensen die in een bubble leven en geen idee hebben van hoe de rest leeft buiten hun Ivoren kasteel proberen de rest te dicteren door de luidste te zijn. En nog erger, een doorsnee Belg heeft geen tijd voor deze gezever maar dezelfde mensen hebben wel de tijd door nog eens hun laag sociale bedrijge met hun werk of bestaan die geen fundamentele active bijdrage is (vb. : meneertje theater wie weet welke modern kunst acteur….).
Nog, ik verwacht ook nog eens van dezeflde en zo achtige mensen een kritiek dat ik Nederlands gebruik…..
Wat moet ik als een gewone mens zeggen en denken……

Taking public transport is what made me want to get a car …
In the Netherlands and in my cases the car is slightly more expensive than with public transport, but by car it saves 60% less travel time. This was 2.5 hours less per day at my old employer.
There should be way more investment into public transport, because currently it’s super unreliable. If only de lijn’s app would actually work, I’d be much happier with it.
It is mostly accurate, except for the moment when you really need to get somewhere quickly and see a bus that will definitely drive only for it to not show up even though it has a ‘wifike’. Oh and also the regular busses all get ‘wifikes’, but the highway bus that is supposed to come 5 minutes after the regular bus never has one.

In a country like Belgium where people live mostly spread over villages instead of in big cities the convenience of a car is very hard to replace by public transportation.
i agree with the cartoon, but i also don’t think you need 18k+ employees to operate the national railways.
As someone who is in the business for the lower, I cannot disagree there is definitely a lot of tax money going to waste there. It is what it is.
Public transport is shit and not as reliable as a car. You can’t even compare the 2. You have more privacy in a car than public transport . Your public transport doesn’t stop in front of your house. Your car won’t show up 20minutes late. A train doesn’t get stuck in traffic. You can’t go to Turkey with the public transport or any other far away country. People who compare public transport and card are delusional. It’s like comparing apples with pears… How are you supposed to get that money from the public transport ? 50% off all de lijn passengers drive without a ticket. You going to pay for that? Because the government doesn’t have to give you a free car.
A subsidy is wastefully if it ends up in the pocket of politicians and their friends
I am going back to school in september and I was in doubt between certain studies. But then public transportation made the decision for me. 45 minutes commute vs 3 hours (same distance)
