Why do conservative MPs keep appearing in old documentaries about people that are out of touch, basically to the point of dysfunction?
Jacob Rees-Mogg also appears in some bizarre French documentary about him as a child, trading with money from his parents, talking about how he wants to be PM after he’s made lots of money and older, and generally being a fan of thatcher.
There’s just so much to unpack here, where do you even begin? It’s like he’s been playing a character his entire life.
I’m surprised this stuff isn’t immediately found and flagged as they become candidates. It just seems like a massive liability.
To be a Tory you have to be a sociopath or psychopath, so in the technical sense not a single one of them has friends, I’m 100% certain if they didn’t personally gain off of their “friends” they wouldn’t know or talk to them.
A billionaire should not run this country, he’ll only think about his rich mates.
Did anyone think he did?
He’s a standard oligarch.
could also be titled Tory caught telling the truth in resurfaced documentary
Lmao obviously. Why would the toffs rub shoulders with the poors?
He will be our next pm because the Tories are currupt and he is fcking minted and they will have best chance at next GE with his money behind them.
Don’t you need to torture a member of the working class in order to become a Tory? No surprises here, I guess looking down on us serfs is better than fucking a decapitated pig’s head (David Cameron – former Conservative prime minister, for readers that don’t follow UK politics).
He’s as bad as the rest of them – our next PM needs to NOT be a multi millionaire.
Someone was obviously concerned about him enough to make sure this saw the light of day again.
I cannot imagine working class people wanting to be friends with him, so the feeling is mutual. I he has much in common with working class people and the cultural differences would just be insurmountable. He would also be the guy on a meal out who gets a starter, expensive main, dessert and champagne; but insists you split the bill equally.
I don’t even want or need him to have working class friends, just to have some empathy for what the working class are going through now and have done so for centuries. The fact that he makes a big deal of this seems slightly odd. Who is he trying to impress with the implication?
That’s kind of how the class system in this country works though. How many working class people have friends who are upper class?
I’m not defending him, but he is minted and as such would go to school and know other minted people. The same way I’m average, and hang around with average people and don’t know any millionaires
Every single one of them who now tout their ‘poor immigrant roots’ for clout should be asked whether their parents would be allowed into the country or end up in Rwanda under the policy they advocate for.
Not a single part of this is surprising, this is the entire Tory Party’s actual attitude to the working class. The same working class who keep the U.K. running through everything from wars to pandemics. And get paid far too little for it.
That’s a punchable face as any. Man’s chin is retreating into his neck
I see No. 10 is not going to let him get the leadership without a fight.
What’s the point of democracy when so many governments are led by people who’ve lived like royalty their whole lives?
The more I see of this nonsense the more I’m starting to think politics should be like jury duty
From the “elites”, for the “elites”.
If the UK people are clever they will demand from the Tories to stop making their super-rich buddies even richer, and begin to work for the good of the whole country.
Saw someone on Facebook posting that they will vote Conservative for the first time if he becomes leader, citing Rushi being a “nice guy” who “knows how to handle money”. This is why we can’t have nice things…
I like how we are already trying to muddy the water re sunak!
Lets face it the ppl that get to elect him are conservative party members.
They don’t strike me as the type to care about this.
However
Sunak, zahawi, javid, badenoch & braverman? Maybe even patel??
Well as much as I don’t care what their origin or skin colour (being a defendant of migrants myself). I find it fantastic that a rightwing party has to pick essentially from a pool of ppl that essentially it will trigger their racist voter base they won in the last decade.
So for all the wrong reasons i find it amusing.
I am beyond shocked! Only last week I saw Bezoz and Murdoch sitting on a couch outside Musk’s council flat with their feet in a kiddy pool shaped like a shell sipping Stella in their wife beaters. Always assumed Rishi was elsewhere whenever I swung by.
Do I like Rishi? No.
Do I think every single other Tory is criminally dangerous? Absolutely.
Anyone in the BJ cabinet should not be eligible to be to be PM.
As a working class person I’d be quite happy to be his friend and my hourly rates are so reasonable he won’t even miss the money.
