By 53% to 32%, Britons would back Labour calling a vote of no confidence if Johnson does not go now | Conservative voters would prefer Johnson to stay on until a new Tory leader has been elected

  1. Doesn’t the Tory party having a massive majority in the house of commons, mean that a motion of no confidence by labour is pointless?

  2. Right how would this all work. Labour call a vote of confidence all the opposition parties presumably vote against. That’s simple.

How the fuck do the Tories pull off voting that they have confidence in the government ? A government they basically told they have no confidence in ?

Labour should call one just for the funny factor.

  3. Boris can and will do wharever the fuck he likes till removed from office.
Anyone who believes he will do what’s best for the country and not do as much harm as possible just has to look at his past history and his current appointments.
The guy was a lying cunt already, now he’s also bitter and twisted.

  4. Ah YouGov – the mouthpiece of one of the people gunning for the PM’s seat…

    >[YouGov was founded in the UK in May 2000 by Stephan Shakespeare and future Conservative MP Nadhim Zahawi.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YouGov)

    >On 8 June 2022, former employee Chris Curtis revealed that during the 2017 United Kingdom general election, a YouGov poll was suppressed by the company because it was “too positive about Labour”, their later polls had their methodology changed “after pressure from high-ups”, and staff feared losing their jobs. This came after a phone call from co-founder Zahawi, in which he told YouGov’s chief executive, “They’ll be queuing up to close you down if you’re wrong on this. You’ve just moved the currency by one and a half per cent. I’m going to spare you the agony: I’m going to call for your resignation when you’re wrong”.[15] Zahawi denied that he had interfered, saying his comments were in jest. YouGov defended itself by denying that the poll was spiked for political reasons, instead arguing that the poll was based on a “skewed sample”. Curtis, however, pointed out that the poll used the same methodology as previous ones “which nobody had any problem with us publishing”.[16]

YouGov polls should just be ignored.

  5. No surprise there really. Tory voters would rather give up their legs than see a Labour PM and they hate disabled people. Regardless of how much damage is being done to the country they will always vote Tory.

Infact Tory voters would rather see the country fall apart than see a Labour PM.

  6. To be honest I think that they should. Just so that the Tories have to explain why they voted against it and let Johnson be in power for several months.

Maybe save it a week or two for when they get the candidates down to a final shortlist. Then absolutely destroy any confidence that can be harboured in them by forcing them to discuss how they won’t hold a vote.
