My friend found one of those crawling around the walls of his room
Record it with the biodiversity Ireland
Maybe it’s John Cleese and he didn’t get better this time.
We’d better get back, ’cause it’ll be dark soon, and they mostly come at night… mostly.
You can make potions from their eyes.
Didn’t even know we have newts in Ireland, you down the country?
At first sight, I thought it was a “common lizard” which are found in Ireland. Even though I haven’t seen one so not that common!
Nice, I used to see loads of them when I was younger not so much nowadays. Mainly due to:
a: Me being older and not playing down the fields (as much) and
b. Habitat being destroyed by housing, progress, farming etc.
smooth newt/common newt, Ireland’s only tailed amphibian
Remember finding one of these with my cousins under their parents car when we were about 6
We didn’t know what it was and were sure it came from Japan and must have gotten stuck in the car (a Mitsubishi Galant) when it was being shipped here… ignoring the fact it was a second hand car haha
Envy!
That’s newt to me!
Call him Isaac.
I don’t think it’s a newt but a lizard, called a common lizard. Zootoca Vivipara.
What kind d kf habitat was it found in ? Very cool
Put it back
Is the place full of water? Very cool I’m going to west cork for thebwèkend so il keep my eye out for them
