The moderate, Tory unity candidate should be Hunt. I hate the guy but he’s the only one to come out of this with anything like integrity, and he’s the only one who I think is genuinely, ideologically centrist. This guy is not the moderate, anti-nutter, centrist candidate that he’s trying to be.
I doubt he will do well. He came across too badly for the MP’s and party by asking Boris to quit hours after accepting a post off him – you can’t be that obviously power hungry. I expect the third of Conservative MP’s who stuck by Boris will have their own candidate (someone like Ben Wallace who didn’t ask Boris to leave and didn’t quit) and it will not be Nadhim. I doubt he gets to the final rounds.
This is why the only Tory candidate I would support (if I was a Tory) is Sajid David. He came from actual modest backgrounds unlike this guy.

I guarantee if he was PM, he’d cut headline rates then make the back-end a whole lot more complicated. George Osborne did the exact same thing with Corporation Tax, cut the headline rate but raised taxes via stealth at the back-end. We haven’t had a PM that actually cuts taxes in years.
The reason for that is that no PM will ever take on pensioners and if you want to cut taxes, you have to be willing to cut spending on pensioners.

There is a growing imbalance between pensioners and those of working age, the demands on the NHS and social care are growing particularly for the older generation and it’s clear that the armed forces will need to increase in size again.

That makes little difference to people already struggling but well-funded services improve quality of life for all. Tax cuts only become worth having if you’ve earned millions. To them 300 is worth having because it could be breakfast or a new shirt!
