Defence Forces on standby at Dublin Airport to ‘avoid reputational damage’, Dáil hears

  1. Unless they’re on the checkin desks and baggage handling there not much need for them now.

  2. Reputation is important for an airport, I understand that but the point is the DAA aren’t able to get people because they’re not being competitive in market with regard to wages. Especially after letting people go during covid. Its because of these that the government shouldn’t be giving them a hand out. If it wasn’t the middle of Summer I would say that the DAA CEO should be let go for making the issue and then not even wanting to fix it.

  3. Private market capitalism for the people, social welfare for companies, banks and dáil scroungers no matter the cost.

  4. Because the most important thing is our “reputation”.

Who gives a fuck about the quality of life of people who actually live in Ireland? It’s like we’re living in a Potemkin village.

I get that the tourism brings in money but Jesus Christ, how about for once we decide to fix something or improve something or build something just because Irish people deserve better??

  5. Imagine you signed up with thoughts of protecting your country on a shite wage only to be forced to do commercial airport security.

  6. And the current workers say they won’t train or work with the Army so why is this being discussed? Are the Army going to invade the airport?
