People say that the Suffragette movement in Britain and occupied Ireland at the time was a bourgious feminist movement that only really had the goal of empowering upper and middle class women which is true but they did do a lot of really cool shit to fight for their rights such as certain types of property damage and letter campaigns. Apparently the IRA would take some inspiration from these tactic later down the line.

    The Suffragettes in America even had to rebrand to “American Suffragettes” as they did not want to be associated with what the other Suffragette movement was doing.

  2. I feel grateful to all the women that fought for the right of vote, if I can afford it I’ll file for citizenship when I can to finally be able to vote in Ireland too.
