You’d think after a fucking global pandemic people would be a little more aware of illness and being in the office, but it seems many haven’t learned a thing.
Yeah the “if you are positive but aren’t sick you need to come to work” has caused us to be even more short staffed than usual as 3 of our guys are now off, not bad enough to be hospitalised but none of them are having a good time.
Yeah it’s not good. Some of the supermarket chains were forcing people to come in with positive tests since last year.
Well that’s a good way to get most of your work force infected and a good % of them are going to be too ill to come into work for a week or so. Covid is still a nasty thing to have for a lot of people.

Gonna go out on a limb and say that a TUC sponsored survey might not be the most reliable here…
This is what knocked out my partner’s entire workplace, they had to get the area manager and others around the same level to cover minimum wage positions so they could stay open. One employee came in with covid and spread it to everyone else who ended up too ill to work.
I mean, that’s basically the bare minimum. So…good?
Basically impossible to get 0 out of 10 for anything.
Our company’s official policy is essentially “*come in, just wear a mask*”, sigh.
If you’re hardly able to get out of bed or can’t breathe, then once you’re able to drag yourself in… do it then.
