  5. I feel this article doesnt go into enough depth on Sunaks role in the financial crash. Basically his hedge fund was an “activism hedge fund”. Activism hedgefunds are agressive hedgefunds that force companies into mergers or changes of leadership or strategy even though they may own as little as 1% of the shares.

    I don’t see the Tory party members electing someone of his … err … *hue* to the top job. Plenty of the ones I’ve met seem to cling very strongly to the idea that he’s not *really* British, and his green card fiasco won’t have helped with that. And some of them will worry that, while *they* are happy to have someone of a different race as PM, they don’t think Tory voters will support that person in sufficient numbers to win an election.

    Plus, he got fined for the same party shit as Boris and he’s been a defender of Boris all along, so if they go clean slate he’s got no chance.

    It was long time ago, but take notice that Infosys lied about ceasing operations in Moscow after the war started and only after the press raised the stink they supposedly “this time for sure” closed the shop. However, good luck to anyone going to Moscow finding the truth.

  46. I’ve no wish to see Rishi Sunak become PM, but this is a pretty poor attempt at a hit piece (and that’s obviously what it’s attempting to be) which will convince no one that would be tempted to vote Conservative anyway.

    – He’s privately educated
    – He has a lot of money
    – He’s written for right-wing think tanks (lol, who’s the Conservative chancellor supposed to write for, the IPPR?)
    – He has a slick PR operation

    Not only is none of that remotely surprising, it’s also not actually intrinsically bad (or good, as it happens).

    The lack of financial transparency might have some mileage, but it’s hard to put much stock in it when sandwiched between so much bilge.
