Celebrating a towering symbol of hate is a bit weird. Good for them that they got the photo before the tricolours are added – can totally whitewash the hatred.

  1. Yeah it’s a bit like setting a record for the biggest burning cross

It actually symbolises loyalism pretty well. An enormous effort to prop up a giant monument to bigotry only to watch it burn down all around them.

  2. Totally misinterpreted the wallstreetbets memo about putting all their money in wood commodities and going to the moon.

  3. Setting those fires in the middle of housing estate is the most scumbaggy thing ever regardless of whats draped around them, no wonder their children grow up like cunts

  4. Surely the most impressive thing is how precisely they measured the height, right?

0.00001 feet is ~3 micrometres, which is a lot thinner than a human hair.

  5. Considering you need catalytic converters and all that on your cars now and there are God knows how many other environmental regulations in place, in boggles my mind how this is still allowed

  6. Apparently they were offered a building that would rival the Burj Khalifa and boost the local economy exponentially, option 2 was a stack of pallets they could make something themselves from

  7. Forget about all the sectarian/racist hatred but in this day and age who celebrates burning so much shit out in the open. It’s an environmental disaster.

They are so fucking backwards in every way imaginable

  8. You know that looks incredibly unstable. And with the temperature lately? That’s just a disaster waiting to happen. But hey let them on. It’s not our problem if that thing goes flying in the wrong direction. And lands on a few of them. Or they end up more fucked from the paint fumes, than covid. That’ll be on the NHS. Because neither we, nor the HSE are footing the bill for their reckless fuckups.

  9. I’m protestant and from the North. These bonfires are ugly as fuck and are an environmental hazard. I can’t imagine anyone in the world outside of NI who thinks this is cool. What an embarrassment

  10. Quote : *”The Portadown bonfire is constructed in the shape of a castle in honour of the Queen’s Jubilee and it is clear it enjoys huge community support.”* End Quote.

( it’s then set on fire and burned to the ground by the very same people who built it.) 🤔
