Honestly kind of insane of a self-proclaimed quality newspaper and energy expert to make such a statement without any nuance regarding solar panels.
People with solar panels should feel no shame or pressure not to use AC.
Fluvius and the government have decided and touted over and over to not promote injection of electricity and go for max self-usage.
New solar panel owners receive pennies on the dollar of actual energy market prices of that specific moment. If you have PV’s at home and it’s sufficient to run your household/AC. Feel free to run it without any media shame. Or pay out the actual and fair injection energy price which should be close to the price you pay for electricity. With digital meters its easy as hell to do this.
Sooo you pay for comfort and you’re not supposed to use it because of their fuck up.
> Dus als het deze week warm wordt in België, laat die energieverslindende airco’s dan uit aub. De stroom die je verbruikt wordt onder meer opgewekt door gascentrales. Dat gas zullen we nog nodig hebben.
Well I for sure did not install an electric heat pump with cooling (you guys promoted heat pumps, right??) and expected it to be run on gas. You were the ones to close the nuclear plants and put gas plants in its place, not me.
The US making Europe commit economic suicide by forcing sanctions upon the most important energy source is surely their greatest achievement this year.
Interview about gas supply. One question is about the reduction of energy consumption, in which one example is about airco’s. But that’s the headline…..
Save energy, obviously. But if the sun is shining, and you have solar panels, by all means use your airco. On sunny days there is no lack of energy. Just make sure to use it during the day, not in the evening or at night.
The real headline should be about how politicians are not taking necessary steps to reduce energy consumption, like a speed limit on highways.
This is the kind of things which companies should do and not individual citizens. Just issue a law for companies if its so damn important.
Poor man’s AC: Ventilator + plantensproeier. Works like a charm.
My room is in the attic, if it’s 30° outside, it’s 35-40 in my room.
What am I supposed tot do? Boil in my own sweat?
Denk het nie.
en laat in de winter die energieverslindende verwarming uit!
I have solar panels, and even with my (simple mono block) AC unit and other devices on I still overproduce. So thanks for the tips but no.
How about I let my solar panels work for myself for once, and you don’t tell me what to do.
Is the AC on in city halls and public buildings? Maybe we need to do some sit-ins as protest against energy policy.
Dienen expert woont wss wel in zo een witten super geïsoleerde blok…
Maybe our Energy Minister could leave the fucking nuclear power plants on instead of gloating about shutting them down on social media…..
