Opening scene is Heno being released from prison after 12 hours due to no space. He robs a scrambler to get back to his estate in Darndale and runs over a few civilians on the way…..
Cut scene to a house in snowdrop walk…
Better yet, set the entire thing in the Midlands. Make frequent references to Dublin, Cork, Galway, and have important things happen there offscreen, but your character is in Laois or some shit
Policeman without guns would be the funniest.
Imagine the diesel smuggling missions.
I could see Ben Dunne making an appearance asking you to ferry coke from his boat to any one of his gyms
No you wouldn’t, it would be boring as heck.
So that’s where he’s been all this time. One wrong turn on the route around Swinford, ended up in San Andreas.
Border region would be cool. Dundalk, Carrickmacross and perhaps some of the northern towns in Armagh.
Imagine the fun…..
Decent music of varied genres playing on the radio would shatter the illusion of it being set in Ireland. On the other hand Rockstar’s parody of Joe Duffy would be some craic.
With monster potholes and thousands of roundabouts.
I couldn’t listen to a game full of Rockstar’s attempts at Irish accents. They’re always pure shite.
A Fallout mod is more realistically feasible since it’s an easier to mod game and there’s been high quality mods like this before if you look at the ones like New Mexico/The Frontier/New California/London/Miami etc. and there’s now framework to add in vehicles and stuff too in order to make it more GTA like. Plus it would be more interesting because you can chat to all the locals for the laughs.
I bet more on a London, perhaps set in the 70s
I want the digger truck for atm and Lidl heists
Any open world game set in Ireland would be great. The closest we have is Microsoft Flight Simulator but even in that Ireland still doesn’t look great. When I last player it, they didn’t even have the spire in O’Connell Street.
Sure Be Grand Theft Auto
It would probably be stereotypical as hell
“Help Patty steal a bag of potatoes for the leprechaun” type shit. Rockstar loves doing these things
I think I would learn to mod to try make this happen
My gta is ireland based i have Dublin Fire Brigade, Garda, Dublin bus,bus eireann, irish billboards, traffic lights the lot and it’s quite fun getting chased by the Garda while driving a stolen VW golf
Race lost due to sheep in road!
just don’t have it in carlow
GTA : Langer Dan Edition
july 11th special event, crash right into a bonfire and try to topple it over.
Growing up Ialways dreamed of my neighbourhood being in games like GTA and Tony Hawk Pro Skater. Always imagined using google earth for the data collection to recreate the environment. We cant be very far off from this sort of tech. Id say it’s probably dooable now, but would cost a fortune.
Maybe one day when im older and greyer ill be able to see such a game. Im sure when GTA VI comes out in 30 years it could take place in major cities around the globe. A man can dream.
Cork City would be ideal. You’d get the beaches in west cork too. Trip up the northside would be like Grove Street in San Andreas

The amount of sharkcards you’d need to rent the safehouse and take out car insurance.
this had been on my “lotto winnings to do list” since GTA 3
Stand clear, motherfuckers, luggage door operating.
GTA: Belfast would be great
