Phase 2 of my quest to fit a uniquely Belgian 3-phase plus to my cooker. Thanks to you lot, I now have (phase 1) the plug. Here is a photo of it: https://static.gamma.be/dam/45447/123. Unfortunately there were no instructions of any sort with it. Does anyone know which pin is which? I guess that the fat one is probably ground, but the others?

  1. Fat one is ground, one should be marked N and three other ones L1,L2 and L3. If you don’t know what N and L1,2,3 are you should have an electrician do it…

  2. Inside there should be an indication.

N is blue, Earth is green yellow and is normally indicated by some sort of upside down T

    L1 L2 L3 are the voltage lines.

  3. Measure the socket. Measuring is knowing…
Even the most advanced electrician can be wrong because he cant know what bloke connected it to start with.
And if you cant measure it, you shouldn’t be doing this.

  4. My advice as someone who is certified to do electrical stuff: ask an electrician to do it.

It may seem very easy to just connect the blue wire to N and the green to PE etc. and it should work.
Reality is that u have no idea about the other end of the connection. Previous owner might have wired incorrectly. or made modifications for his stove.

So unless u feel comfortable in opening the wall plate and double checking the correct wiring (with power off), and measuring live voltages, dont do it.

It might explode in ur face / burn your house down of maybe just destroy your new stove.

So best is not to rely on some people from reddit when it comes to dangerous voltages.
